The Holiday season is finally here! Thanksgiving has just been and gone, Christmas trees are starting to pop up everywhere and our general spirits are high and mighty. While we often celebrate and give thanks to the people close to us, it is important to remember those who have donated their time and effort to making the world a better place. On the 5th of December we celebrate International Volunteer Day, a day to raise awareness on the important role volunteers play in our society and the world.

About International Volunteer Day

International Volunteer Day is held each year on the 5th of December. This day is a unique chance for volunteers and organisations to celebrate the hard work they all do everyday. Volunteering provides opportunities for people, particularly those often excluded, to positively impact their own lives, play a constructive role in their communities and be a part of the growth and success.

The theme for 2019 is Volunteer for an Inclusive Future

International Volunteer Day highlights volunteers contributing to inclusion, reducing inequality, giving us all an opportunity to promote volunteering and celebrate the people who genuinely make a difference every day. In light of this day, we here at Joyful want to take the opportunity to thank each and every one of you for all the hard work you do everyday, and for the difference you inevitably make in the world!

Check out the conversation on social media under #volunteer4inclusion and #IVD2019 and get amongst it!
